Spikey Mountains

The composition and the underlay values/colors was initially inspired by this dream-like/random image I had in my head.
I painted the underlay with a mouse at first and then tightened up the details with the tablet. I had real fun with this one and I think I'm painting a lot faster now.
My friend says it reminds him of How to Train Your Dragon, and maybe that is because I've seen that movie about 5-6 times now.

Desert Cliff

Try to practice with color
if these are coming out too dark, this is because I paint with a laptop.

Self-Portraits of Wesley Lin

This first one was done during my early weeks of art center.

This one was done as a final for my Design Fundamentals I final.

This is a self-portrait of me after my frist term of Art Center.
It doesn't take an art historian to get the story that's being told here.

Blue Ogre

Here's my new character: the blue ogre
I managed to get my CS5 trial starting again. This time, it's on the mac
And there's no lag. What a beast.
Played around with the color on this one. Don't know if you can tell. Probably can go even crazier next time.
These two are still very unsaturated.

It's supposed to be a blue, but whatever. I'm really proud of this one. Pops out a lot more and it looks very painterly.

The Breathing Tree

For my grandfather, as well as for the benefit concert.
I took the shape of the tree from this Chinese sculpture I think. The shape was really interesting and surreal, and I felt I should have found a way to incorporate it into the world of Alice and Wonderland (my portfolio). I did make a thumbnail, but that was it. I felt...bad. haha
Well this makes up for it in I guess (:
